How to Find Your Influencers
Find Your Influencers is a Step 5 lesson on identifying people who are already connected to the readers you want to reach.
Find Your Influencers is a Step 5 video lesson that helps you identify the people who are already connected to the readers you want to reach.

What does this lesson cover?
On the Step 5 · GROW roadmap page it is the third card under Start Making the Right Connections. Its description reads: "Identify people already connected to the readers you want to reach." In the lesson list it is titled "Finding Your Influencers."
The roadmap lists "Connections with influential people" among the things you walk away with from Step 5, and "Ideas for guesting on podcasts and more."
The method itself is taught in the video. This article shows where it is and what the Coach says about your Step 1 reports.

Can my earlier reports help me?
Yes. Your Step 1 reports may already contain names worth a second look.
- The Monetization Gap and Final Validation reports include paid Substack newsletters in your niche. The Course Coach says the newsletter writers and their audiences may be promotional partners at launch. When you are ready to promote in Step 7 · LAUNCH, these writers are the first people to contact for shoutouts and features. Smart authors save these now.
- Both reports also include a separate section of paid Skool groups, with relevant group names, known paid-tier information, what members receive, and relevance to your book topic.
- Paid newsletter offers can suggest topics people value, but they do not prove paid subscriber numbers or demand for your particular book.
What are the other lessons in this group?
Start Making the Right Connections has three cards:
- The Microniche Magnet (Endorsements & Shoutouts): "Create natural opportunities for relevant people to notice and support your book." See Microniche Magnet.
- The Proof Pak Outreach: "Give people something valuable and compelling to react to instead of just asking for a favor." See Proof Pak Outreach.
- Find Your Influencers: "Identify people already connected to the readers you want to reach."
Step 7 is where you rally your launch team. See Step 7.
Do I need a big following of my own?
No. The Step 5 roadmap, under "No Daily Posting. No Social-Media Treadmill.", says you don't need to become an influencer. You set up a simple, targeted system to put your book in front of the right people. It's quick, inexpensive and runs mostly on autopilot, even if you dislike social media.
