KDP bonus content, like other stories or previews of other books that aren't part of your book's title, should be relevant to the customer, go at the end of your book, be listed in your table of contents, and make up no more than around 10% of the book.
What counts as bonus content?
Extra material that isn't part of your book's title. KDP's examples are other stories or previews of other books. If you choose to include bonus content, it "should be relevant to the customer and should not disrupt the reading experience."
Where does bonus content go?
At the end of the book. To meet the guidelines, KDP requires two things:
- Place the additional content at the end of the book.
- List the bonus content in your book's table of contents.
How much bonus content is okay?
For the best customer experience, bonus content should make up no more than around 10% of your book. If you'd like several stories in one book, KDP suggests creating a collection of works. When you choose your book's title, always follow the Metadata Guidelines.
What other rules apply to bonus content?
- Primary and bonus content must both meet all program guidelines. For example, bonus content in KDP Select titles must be exclusive.
- Translated content must be high quality and not machine generated.
- Disruptive links and promises of gifts or rewards are never allowed.
