Using the Writing Studio on a Phone or Tablet
The whole Writing Studio works on a phone. The chapter list opens as a panel, the toolbar swipes sideways and the bottom bar stays in view.
Yes, the whole Writing Studio works on a phone. A phone held upright and a phone held sideways use the same compact layout, where the chapter list becomes a panel you open. A tablet held upright uses the desktop layout.

How do I open my chapters?
Tap the Chapters button at the top left of the writing area. The chapter list opens as a panel over the page. Tap a section and the panel closes so the writing area is clear. Tap Close to put the panel away without choosing.
How do I move or delete a chapter or section?
Each chapter and each section shows ▲ ▼ buttons (move up and move down) and a visible × (delete). Deleting asks for confirmation first. These are there because drag and drop and hover-only buttons do not work on touch screens. See How do I add chapters and sections?.
How does the toolbar work?
On a phone, the formatting toolbar is one row that swipes sideways and stays pinned at the top while the page scrolls. A small ‹ › arrow at the edge shows whenever there are more buttons that way. Tap it or just swipe. The Undo and Redo buttons are not shown on phones, to save room. They are on desktop and tablets.
The emoji picker and the text color picker open as a panel at the bottom of the screen on a phone. The emoji one has a Close button.
I cannot find the Front End tab
The row of top tabs (Writing Studio, Audiobooks, My Books, Import Book, Front End, Final Editor, QR Library, Tutorials) also swipes sideways. A ‹ › arrow sits beside Audiobooks while more tabs are off-screen. If you cannot find Front End, tap it.
Why does the page scroll as one piece?
On a phone the page scrolls as one piece. The chapter title, the Writer's Prompt, the Visual Editor and Page Preview switch and AI buttons, and the toolbar sit above the writing area, so scroll down to get the full writing area. The bottom bar stays at the bottom of the screen. With the on-screen keyboard open there is less room, so scroll to bring the writing area into view. If you want more room, Hide prompt removes the Writer's Prompt panel.
How do Page Preview and Full Screen work?
On a phone held upright, the preview shows one page at a time. Full Screen opens the preview over the whole screen with just the chapter title, a ⚙ button and Close along the top. Close is always at the top right. Tap ⚙ to open the format, template, pull-quote and action-box options, and tap it again to put them away. Held sideways, Full Screen can show two pages side by side when the chapter has more than one page and there is room.
The ePub preview is a simulation. Real e-readers (Kindle, Apple Books) choose their own page size and text size, so the page numbers in the ePub preview are not real page numbers. On a narrow screen it shows one page at a time. Tap the left or right edge to turn the page.
What about the Front End and Audiobooks tabs?
They stack on a phone. On Front End the form comes first and the page thumbnails are below it. On Audiobooks the settings come first and the audio editor and guide are below.
Why can I still see Safari's bars on an iPhone?
On an iPhone, Safari's own address and tab bars cannot be hidden by the app, because Safari does not let a web page do that. They may stay visible, especially when the phone is held sideways. Where a browser allows it (for example Android Chrome and iPad), Full Screen asks the browser to go full screen.
What if something is cut off or I cannot tap it?
If something is clipped, overlapping or cannot be tapped, take a screenshot and tell us which page you were on, your phone model and your browser. Email contact@goldenbestseller.com for persistent layout problems.
Not sure where to start? The Course Coach inside the app guides you through each step, so you are never stuck on a button. On a phone its bubble is smaller, and you can drag it anywhere on the screen if it is covering something.
