How to Find Your Way Around the App

Use the top menu, the STEP tabs on the left and your profile menu at the top right to reach everything you need.

You move around with three things: the top menu (Dashboard and Roadmap), the STEP tabs on the left, and your profile menu at the top right. The Course Coach button floats on the screen and can answer questions any time.

What is in the top menu?

• ✦Dashboard: The tab next to Roadmap where the Welcome Video ("Welcome & Full App Walk-through") is always available, so you can watch it again whenever you like.
• ✦Roadmap: Your course map, with a numbered step tracker across the top for all eight steps: FIND, PLAN, BUILD, WRITE, GROW, PREP, LAUNCH and EXPAND. On a phone the eight steps show in two rows of four so every step is visible.

How do the STEP tabs on the left work?

The first time you click a STEP tab (for example Step 4 · WRITE), it opens that step's Roadmap page. This is a short overview of the step with a button into the real lessons or tool. After you have clicked that button (or have otherwise gone into the step's lessons or tool), every later click on that STEP tab goes straight to the lessons or tool, with no Roadmap page in between.

To read a step's Roadmap page again, click Roadmap in the top menu, then click the step's number (1 to 8) across the top of the Roadmap page. The Roadmap menu always shows the Roadmap pages, whether or not you have started the step. If a Roadmap page seems to have disappeared, this is how to get back to it.

What does a lesson page look like?

On every lesson that has a generator, the video is at the top and the generator (the actual tool, with the research-team character above it) is further down the same page, below the notes box. A pink Scroll down to the Generator link right under the video takes you straight to the tool. Lessons without a generator, such as the intro videos and walk-throughs, do not show that link.

Can I make the sidebar smaller?

Yes. Every app in Golden Bestseller Empire has a collapsible left sidebar (the Book Planner, the Writing Studio and the lesson pages).

• ✦Click the thin strip on the sidebar's right edge to collapse or expand it.
• ✦Drag that same strip left or right to make the sidebar the width you like.

In the Writing Studio, clicking a chapter header in the sidebar expands its sections, and clicking a section jumps the editor to it. In a lesson, clicking a lesson in the sidebar goes to that lesson. In the Book Planner, clicking a step expands its sub-questions, and clicking a sub-question jumps to that exact question.

What is in the Writing Studio?

The tabs across the top of the Writing Studio, left to right, are:

• ✦Writing Studio: The main writing environment, with your chapters and sections.
• ✦Audiobooks: Converts your manuscript into a narrated audiobook.
• ✦My Books: All your books in one place, with PDF and ePub downloads.
• ✦Import Book: Brings in an existing manuscript from a Word document or an ePub file.
• ✦Front End: Your book's front matter, such as the title page, impressum and table of contents settings.
• ✦Final Editor: A final review and polish pass across the whole manuscript before export.
• ✦QR Library: Where you paste a URL and a label to create a QR code for the printed book.
• ✦Tutorials: How-to videos for every part of the Writing Studio and the Audiobook Creator.

What is in my profile menu?

Click your profile picture at the top right. The menu has:

• ✦My Profile
• ✦Connected Services: Where your AI key and cloud storage connections are managed. See How do I connect my AI key?
• ✦API Usage: Your own real token counts and estimated dollar cost per generator. It starts with the current billing cycle and has an All Time option.
• ✦Contact: For reaching our support team.
• ✦Sign Out

Where is the Course Coach?

It is the floating bot button on your screen. If it covers something you need to click, click and hold the bot icon and drag it somewhere else. A quick click opens and closes the chat. Read more in How do I use the Course Coach?
